Things to take away from my GOBLIN course

The past 4 weeks have been wonderfully engaging and enlightning; I expect the last week to be the same. I am actually saddened that this is coming to an end! I’ve enjoyed myself immensely, and I feel that I’ll be able to take some of the concepts and ideas we’ve learned this week and apply them to the professional development training that we are implementing for our student employees. Instead of simply incorporating a single game into the development course, we can gamify the entire course (similar to what K20 is doing with their various games) to make the information both engaging and fun. Learning doesn’t have to be boring, and gamification of learning is a hot topic right now, and rightfully so. Gaming (in one form or another) is an integral part of many people’s life; why not take those concepts and apply them to the classroom setting?
